Full Time Ministry Launch……a word from Bill Maner

Over the past several months, God has been preparing my heart for the next phase of work and ministry. After much prayer and reflection, Kim and I believe now is the time to step out in faith and follow His calling to full-time ministry with Active Impact International.

We are grateful for the last eight years at Mt. Salus Christian School and have been blessed by the school board's support as we take this step in faith. While this is a difficult step, we feel strongly that God is leading us forward. In this step of faith, we are moving from Clinton to Laurel, MS.

Over the last 20 years, God has been using us through education, basketball, service, and community building. This new season of work and ministry aligns those things in a new way through Active Impact International.

Our Mission: Impacting Lives Through Basketball and Education

Our goal is to use the gifts God has given us—working in education for over 20 years, language, cultural experience, and basketball—both locally and internationally. Through Active Impact International, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded 14 years ago, we plan to use education, sports, and leadership development as tools to share the Gospel in several ways:

  • School Engagement & Professional Development: Working with schools—locally, nationally, and internationally—to provide training, mentorship, and Gospel-centered education initiatives. This may mean starting Christian schools where there is a need

  • Basketball Clinics & Camps: Hosting events in partnership with churches to reach communities with the message of Christ.

  • Discipleship & Follow-Up: Establishing meaningful partnerships to ensure that those impacted continue to grow in faith and community.

This work is centered on sharing the Gospel and fostering Christian leadership through meaningful, long-term partnerships.

💰 Financial Support: Active Impact International is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and we are raising financial support to launch this as a full-time ministry by August 2025. Early financial contributions will allow us to plan effectively. Our goal is to raise financial support for us to get started and continue to grow the ministry as the Lord leads. At this time we realize this may be as Paul a “tent ministry”--we will work and do Active Impact, until, Lord willing, Active Impact can be done full time. 🤝 Partnerships: We are seeking churches, schools, families, and individuals to help build strong partnerships that will sustain this ministry for the long term.

Active Impact Events on the Calendar–Please Pray:

  • June 16-18: Active Basketball Camp in Yazoo City partnering with FBC Yazoo for local students

  • July 13-20: Basketball and VBS Mission Trip to Guatemala

    • Over 30 participants from several churches and schools

    • VBS Team: in several locations/schools in Guatemala

    • Basketball Team: competing against several teams and doing basketball clinics in schools

    • Through all of this, we have the opportunity to share the Gospel

    • Pray: for boldness, hearts receptive to the Good News, those sharing, seeds to be planted/watered, safety/health in travels, finances for all going

  • August - May: College “Open Gym”

    • Nick Zuro, the Mt. Salus Christian School Basketball Coach, has been faithful to have an open gym for college students in the Jackson Metro Area as schedules allow throughout the year. College age students come to the gym when he is available to open it to play basketball. He uses this time to get to know them and pray/share God’s Word.
